Information Collection and Use
We collect and use your information to provide our Services and improve them over time.
Skowt is a closed and secure social networking site designed for use by members of the Scouting and Girl Guiding community.
Although we go to great lengths to make sure you information is not made publically available we cannot guarantee this 100%.
Although Skowt is closed form the general public it is an open platform for registered users. This means that once you are a validated user some of your information will be freely shared with other Skowt users.
Any information you post, send as a message or upload will become available without censorship. It is therefore you, the users, responsibility to ensure you are only sharing information you are happy for others to see.
Information Collected Upon Registration
When you create or reconfigure a Skowt account, you provide some personal information, such as your name, username, password, and email address. Some of this information, for example, your name and username, is listed on your profile page and in search results. This means other Skowt users will be able to search for you and view some of this information.
Additional Information: You may provide us with additional information, such as a short biography, your location, and your date of birth. This information is stored on our database and will not be made publically available.
Information you put in the ‘about me’ field may be made available to other Skowt users. It is you the users responsibility to ensure any information in publically available fields is both correct and suitable.
We may use your contact information to send you information about updates and additions to our services. If you email us, we may keep your message, email address and contact information to respond to your request. Providing the additional information described in this section is entirely optional.
Our Services are primarily designed to help you share information with your Scouting and Girl Guiding colleagues. Most of the information you provide to us is information you are asking us to make available to other Skowt users. This includes messages, ‘lets talk’ updates and other data provided, such as when you posted a comment or uploaded an image.
Your information is broadly and instantly disseminated throughout the Skowt website. You should be careful about all information that will be made available to other Skowt users.
Location Information
You may choose to note your location in your posts and uploads. This is not something Skowt requires or deems necessary.
